Jack is 6 months!!!

Today Jack turned 6 months- half way down to the big 1!!! My baby is growing up way too fast. he also had doctors appointment today and he is 19.1 pounds and 26.4 inches! A little on a chubby side, but that’s ok! Our monkey picture was definitely in place today and monkey is starting to shrink fast!

And look at the mess he made with his food! Jack is really starting to trying and feeding himself, no success there yet, but it’s a good practice for days to come and he always has bath after dinner any how, so why not have some fun with the food and make a mess?059

Brotherly love

Ethan is such a good big brother, he is helpful when needed and so calm when jack need some quiet time. he definitely went trough a big change- from being the only child for 6 years to becoming a brother, but we are past the little jealousies at times and becoming aware that the baby just needs lot more attention than a big boy like himself.  011 Jack is a whole different story too- he ADORES his big brother, his face lights up when Ethan comes in his view and it is such a treat for him to sit down and play with Ethan. I love watching them both together!!! Although even Jack can get a little jealous at Ethan when he gets cuddles from me!002

Play date at Lake Rim park

Tuesday Kayla with Sierra, Lindsey with Benjamin and me and the men folk had a play date! It was a bit hot outside, but then again- when is it not hot in summer in North Carolina, so we found a shady little spot and camped down for a little talk time for the girls and play time for the kiddos. 018

It was such a nice get together and good to see how much the kiddos have grown. They all have learned some new amazing skills! Sierra makes the funniest noses!037

Benjamin showed off his new crawling skills! 023

Jack was so good the whole time too, just sitting and playing with the toys. Ethan did amazing too in the midst of all the babies, he played with them a little, kept us amused and did some self entertaining. To keep him busy I let him go crazy with the camera, so he took some pretty weird pictures, hahahah! 038

Jack fell asleep at the end, but was up and about the minute we pulled in our drive way, that little man never sleeps!!!020

Boy’s teeth

We have had quite the teeth adventure lately. Even though Jack had most of teething signs I really did not think that he would get any teeth this soon. Ethan also had all the teething symptoms when he was a baby and they lasted for ever, he didn’t get his first tooth until about  7 months! But Jack has his own personal clock for his little toofers and he got his both bottom teeth already. I finally got a chance to snap a picture without him trying to bite my finger off, hahahah!!!004

His drooling has slowed down a little, so hopefully it will stay that way, otherwise the poor munchkin has a new rash on his chin every night after a whole day of drooling!

Ethan has also been busy sprouting out some new teeth and getting rid of some baby ones. He is missing 3!!!! of his front upper teeth and 2 of his bottom teeth. So most of his eating is done on the sides. His upper front tooth is coming in pretty big though and looks like it might be bit crooked, but we’ll see. I thought the same thing about his bottom teeth but it turned out good after all. 002

I love my little teeth sprouting men folk!!!!

Jambas ranch

Last Sunday we had planned to go to the Zoo in Asheboro, but Jack decided to take a long nap so we all joined in and overslept… So as an alternative we chose to go to Jambas ranch what is just outside Fayetteville. Personally I think the place is overpriced and not all that exciting, but for our city child Ethan it is the perfect place to see some animals and feed them too. It was super hot but we did brave ourselves, packed a bunch of ice water and headed over there. Ethan had a blast!!! All his bread was gone within the first 5 minutes and he had to confiscate Aaron’s bread bucket. On the ranch they have this very fat pot belly pig. Unfortunately for the pig, we noticed the “DO NOT FEED THE PIG DUE TO MEDICALLY RESTRICTED DIET” sign after we had fed the pig. And the couple after us went right on ahead and also fed the pig. They really need to make that sign a lot bigger!!! Poor  pig, it’s belly is literally dragging on the ground005

The cutest thing there were this little deer family-dad,mom and little baby!!! How cute is that!?!?!!?015

Great grandma visiting

Aaron’s grandma came to visit us for a couple of days and it made us extremely happy. I think Ethan was the happiest though, he sure love his great grandma. He didn’t sleep in his own bed one single night, he just had to crash with grandma. We stayed with grandma when Ethan was little until Aaron joined the Army , so Ethan and her are very close and now when we live so far away he really misses her, so this was a very special treat for Ethan to have her come and stay with us a couple of days. This was also the first time she got to see baby Jack, what made this visit extra special. And today grandma left what made Ethan extra sad.

Excuse the mess! And it amazes me at how much jack looks like Aaron’s baby picture here.

And here is a picture of Jackson sitting all pretty in the tub-now it’s letting me upload the pictures!003

Also on the sad note, my grandma is spending his last days on this Earth and it is extremely sad and hard to handle, since I am unable to go see him in Latvia for this one last time. I love my grandpa so much and always have, ever since I can remember he has been my strong and dear “opitis”. I have so many amazing childhood memories of him and the things we did together at his house in the Latvian country. So in a way maybe it is better I don’t have to see him all weak and unable to walk. Either way it is sad and very hard to deal with…

An old picture of us together when I was about 7. I love my grandpa’s hair!!!!!

the joys of kiddos

Ethan lost both of his front teeth!!!

We're almost wishing it was Christmas time, because we are singing "All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth" all the time to him. And his way of talking now is beyond precious, so we are reading a lot just to hear him talk. It is the cutest thing ever! His teeth were ready to come out a while ago, but they stubbornly hang in there, I think it might been due to Ethan hitting them a bunch of times- somehow every time he feel or run into anything, he would take all the impact with his teeth. It actually did get me quit worried, to extent that I was about to make dentist appointment for him to see if everything is OK. But obviously everything is just fine!

Jack is also doing some serious growing! he is mastering sitting up all by himself and amazing us every day at how well he does! Compared to Ethan he is way more physically developed- Ethan didn't start sitting up until he was 7 months!!! And as Ethan is loosing teeth , Jackson is getting his in, he now has both bottom teeth and are they sharp! Some of his toys are scratched up beyond recognition, what makes me wonder if he might be getting some plastic tiny pieces in his tummy, so tomorrow I am going to go trough his toys and scratch the ones that are not looking too good. Why must my little men folk grow up so fast???

And for some reason I can not add any more pictures...so picture with jack will have to wait untill the next post.
