We had one of the "I told you so" moments. The other day Ethan was just glued to the stapler regardless of our reminders that he should come and sit down at the table and let us help with it! Instead, he snuck away with it and according to him was fixing it. Fixing the stapler ended in one frantic andcrying boy running trough the house with sheer terror in his face. And as bad as it sounds, all me and Aaron could do for those first couple of seconds was just laugh. Once again Ethan has done it- had to explore things for himself instead of listening to his older and wiser parents. But that is the way Ethan learns, he has been this way since he could walk, so I am prepared for lot more "I told you so" accidents. After Aaron got the staple out(there was no way I was gonna do that!!!), I got to baby my baby Ethan and give his "boo-boo"(we don't call them this out loud anymore, just in my head...) some love and care. And I am happy to report that he is o.k... untill next time!

On other hand- Jack is just loving his little jumper, he wants to be it all the time! Even when he is off doing other things, his legs still move as if he was jumpng! He is such a jumping Jack!

This and that

I finally sat down and got Ethan’s summer school work organized, phew, well that’s done for my relief but not for Ethan, heheh. He enjoys school and some school work, but he is definitely not too thrilled about morning school time when it’s summer brake. But I truly believe that it can only benefit him, since he is one of those kids who will forget such basics as how to write his name if it’s not being practiced from time to time.

We will start on his school work tomorrow and slowly go trough his 35 day plan of math, reading, writing and social studies. We did it last summer and the results were amazing, he got back into the swing of things right away, when some kids in his class struggled for weeks to catch up on all the academics they have forgotten over the summer.

And here is a story- when I was a kid, I remember trying  to suck on bottles and small glasses and cups to see how long they will stick to my lips and there was always somebody there to remind me not to do that, because I will get a fat lip…well I kept doing what i was doing and never got a fat lip. As a matter of fact I do not know anybody who ever got a fat lip from that. Well that is –I never heard of anyone do that up until today! Ever since yesterday Ethan has been making his little Gatorade bottles stick to his mouth and as any good parent I have been reminding him not to do that, because of the fat lip thing…and him being Ethan, he would stop for a minute and then g on doing the same thing again. So this morning my big boy woke up looking like this!!!!!!!!!

And you got to trust me that this picture shows only about half of the damage!!! I told you so, because mom knows best is all I could tell him this morning while trying not to laugh…silly boy!

And Mr. Jack is finally and officially no more toothless, his first tooth is out!!! There is no way I can get a picture of that- he either covers it with his tong or bites at me, but I will try to sneak a picture at some point and time! So since I don’t have a picture of that, here is one of him being a big boy and trying to feed himself…it made a mess,  but he had a blast!

Mr. Jack is 5 months!

Wow, my little man is 5 months today! I am still in complete amazement of how much can one little person grow in such  little time. He has gone from helpless infant to a little person who’s personality is coming out, he’s trying so hard to sit up and is on verge on rolling over any day no, he’s sprouting out his first tooth and wants to get into EVERYTHING!- nothing I have in my hands or in front of me while hanging on to Jackson, is safe from his drolly little hands. His latest favorites are phones and remotes. One of is favorite things to do is reading books, he takes in every single page we look at. And our play time is a must!!!

Jumping Jack, sorry the video is sideways

And it is such a treat to compare Jackson and Ethan and to see all the differences in between my two boys. Ethan was lot more verbal, sporting his first word at 3 months old, while Jack is quite verbal too, no words are coming out of him yet. And Jack is lot more active than Ethan was-Ethan just sort of sat around and talked, while Jack is on  the move non-stop.

Time is flying way too fast!!! The other day I heard a time flying by description that was pretty interesting- it is like toilet paper-the closer to the end of roll you get, the faster it goes…or something like that…

Ethan is 7!

June 13th is my little man’s birthday! I still can’t believe that he is 7 years old already, and at the same time it feels like he has been with me forever…weird, but yet what a wonderful feeling to be a part of somebody’s life from the moment they were created. 009aAn amazing feeling about this life that me and Aaron have created together and now we are responsible for this life..have been responsible for the last 7 years. Wow, time has flown by so fast. And that should be enough melancholy for now, makes me want to cry!!!

So here are some pictures of his fun day of when he turned 7 years old.

We started Ethan’s day by going to IHop, it is his favorite breakfast place in the whole wide world and our Ethan’s birthday tradition for the last 4 years. He was so excited!!! After packing our tummies full of yummy food we headed over to Lowes where they had a building class for kids, it’s called “Build and Grow” and what you do is- take your kiddo there and let them build little projects- all the tools and building materials are provided free of charge. This was Ethan’s first time and he had fun, he got his little putting green built in about 5 minutes and was ready to move on to next activity we had planned for him….

And the next things was- Monkey Joe’s inflatable indoor playground..thingy… he was sooo excited about this one, we spent 2 hours there and Ethan had a blast every second of it!

After all that jumping we came home and just relaxed before his friends came over or some cake and ice cream and just some play time together.

After this fun day, Ethan went to bed with a huge smile on his face saying that this was his best day ever!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY ETHAN!!!!

School’s out for summer!!!

So summer has started full swing for Ethan , as of Thursday he officially is a second grader- that still sounds sooo weird to me…seems like just couple of weeks ago he was starting pre-K  and now he has finished first grade!!! Time is flying way too fast.

But what better way to kick off summer than doing something fun?!?!? Ethan picked bowling, so Friday morning we heading out to do some bowling. Aaron was home on CQ recovery, but since he is an old man and needs his sleep, we left him home sleeping- kept us busy and house quiet-we all won! As for bowling- I have to admit, that we are terrible at it!!! Ethan actually beat me at our second game, but to defend myself-he did have bumpers! I think bowling is something we are going to be doing a lot this summer- Tuesdays are dollar days- cheap way to keep busy and cool!005

sleeping kids and ice cream

I just love how peaceful children look when they are sleeping, especially after all the night time routine craziness with baths to take, teeth and gums to brush, books to read, pjs to be put on, cuddles and hugs to give out and then Ethan’s latest thing is to come up with crazy excuses why he shouldn’t go to bed yet. And after they’re both asleep and house in quiet and calm, I feel so relieved yet lonely without the boys…so I go and disturb their sleep by camera flashes.

Earlier in the day we went out for ice cream to make Ethan feel better. At his school he has Accelerated Reader program, where you get points for each book you read. Well this time around Ethan didn’t get the award even though he had the points what required a lot of reading this time around, because he was reading chapter books for the 9-12 age group that were valued only at 1.5 points each(he needs 15 points in 9 weeks and these chapter books took about week and a half each!!!), so we had to catch up by reading extra books to get the points. And after all that his teacher looses his reading log and without it she can’t  prove that he has the needed points!!!  So after all this hard work and no reward from school, it was our turn to make our bestest reader ever make feel better, so Baskin Robbins it was!

SLACKING

I have to admit that I have been pretty lazy at doing anything on here, besides spying on people :o) Jack has been going trough some weird phase lately- he’s gone from very good night time sleeper to just about being awake every hour to two hours all trough the night!!! And not necessarily it’s because he is hungry at those times, couple of times he just gets up to play what doesn’t last long if I take him in the room with us and lay him next to me, then he is back asleep within couple of minutes. And on top of that he had his first little cold- just runny nose so it’s not all that bad. And naptimes during the day are getting worse too, on average Jack takes about  3 naps during a day what total out to about an hour, on a good day it might be 2 hours. What a weird little bean he is!!!! 006a

Ethan is getting very excited about school coming to end and his birthday coming up- school ends on the 11th and his birthday is on the June 13th, so he’s counting down days. Last year he didn’t get to finish up school year with his classmates because his legs were still healing from the pit bull attack and same for his birthday, he was still unable to walk and needed occasional pain meds, so he didn’t have a party last year, just some cake and presents. So this year we’ll have to make up for that. Ethan doesn’t want a big party though, he’s decided that in the morning we’ll go to IHop(his very favorite breakfast place) and then to Monkey Joe’s and maybe Chuckie Cheeses  and after that some of his neighborhood friends will come over and have some cake and ice-cream with him. Sounds like a good idea to me- one thing I really do not like is organizing big birthday parties,so thank goodness for Ethan’s idea’s of having good time with us most of the day, yay!!!!
