This and that

Jack is 14 weeks today!!! Wow, the time is flying and it's already May tomorrow...I guess it's true -the older you get,the faster time flies by, that does make me a little sad though. So, here is Jack's picture with monkey. We started taking pictures with monkey when he was only couple days old and will keep up with it as long as he's not too embarrassed to be photographed with a stuffed toy. Monkey is shrinking fast!!!

Ethan had a missing person's poster to make for a project at school. He had to pick one of the New England states and then decide what famous person from that state he wanted to make the poster about, he picked Theodor Seuss Geisel a.k.a. Dr. Seuss, we've been slowly working on it for a little while now, but we kicked in the gear yesterday and finished it up. The fact that Jack was sleeping the whole time helped out a LOT!!!!
Here are the pictures of Ethan being hard at work and then the finished poster with the proud author.

Dogwood festival

Every spring Fayetteville has Dogwood festival and somehow for last 4 1/2 years since we've lived here we have always forgotten to show up for all the festivities. But this year we remembered- yay for us! The best par about the whole thing is music, even the First Baptist Church was playing it's church bells. Tonight at 9 o'clock there is "Collective Soul" playing in Festival Park, but we are gonna skip on that, even though I'm still thinking that we have 20 minutes until it starts, so maybe...
Ethan had a blast because they had some rides there too and if you ask him, that's the reason he lives right now, hahahah. I'm gonna post before ride and after ride picture to explain his excitement:

getting ready to take off ->

He has landed!!!

While Ethan was waiting in line (he insisted of being very grown up and standing in the line by himself) we entertained ourselfs by snaping a picture of Jack sleeping trough all the fun and ourselves cooking alive:

And now we are all crashed and just relaxing...looks like no "Collective soul" for me after all.

Chuckles!

Jack laughed out loud today for the first time!!! Well I should correct that, he has laughed before, but nothing like this- this was a laugh out loud spree because I was nibbling on his tummy. The first time I did it, he just looked terrified but over time he seems to enjoy it more and more and today he liked it the most. Of course the minute I got the camera he was looking at it and posing all serious, so this is the best video I could get of it. Not much of laughing though....compared to off camera..children will do that to you.

And after the laughing fest we had a calm night- reading Ethan's book together. He is very advanced in reading, so the books he's been reading are the 9-12 age group books and some words are in need of explanation, so we make it a family night time activity and all take part in it. We're pretty geeky about some things I guess... GO,READING!!!

Jackson turned 3 months today!!!! Wow, I can't believe it's been 3 months already!!! And at the same time it feels much longer than only 3 months. It feel like he has been part of our family for ever. I really feel blessed by having such an easy transition form one child to two...maybe the age difference has something to do with it, either way, having my two sons feels like the best thing in the world.
I attempted to make some squash today. I got this snazzy little food musher upper, that looks like the exact same thing my mom had for my sisters, and it was a Russian made thing...so I just had to get it for the old memory sake. And I'm happy because it works quite well and the clean-up is less than a minute! Here is what it looks like ->

I did freeze up the finished product, because we will get used to Jack eating cereal and maybe occasional banana ,before we start on all kinds of fancy shmancy veggies.

Also I have to post this picture of Ethan, he is such a smart little kiddo, today was first time he did 100% of his homework independently , we have been slowly training him to do that and here we go. Although it makes me a little sad, because I really enjoy doing homework with him...so I linger around taking pictures of him...

Cape Fear Botanical Garden

Today we had a nice playdate at the Botanical Garden, it was sorta like a little reunion for us bunch of wives who's hubbies still are or were in B co. We all have had little ones ever since and it was nice to see all the kiddos. And it was nice to see Kara who has moved to Savannah, GA.

Here are all the kiddos in no particular order. We did take a picture in age order, but I'll have to wait to get that one from somebody else.

Jack enjoyed himself quite a lot, this is first time he has been around so many babies and he did very well, not caring much about what's going on around him.

Also Ethan had a field trip today to Marbles Kids Museum in Raleigh, he was so excited about it. He was out of the bed in less than a minute this morning and ready to go. he did take some pictures with a little disposable camera,so I will post some pics(if any of them are worth posting) once the film is developed. His favorite part was a ball pit, weird little man.

Well that's all for my first real entry, maybe I'll be brave enaugh to write some more tomorrow.

first one

I think that i will give this a try, why not join the crowd of bloggers.

And these two munchkins will be what I most write about most likely. SO, here we go, trying out this blogg business.
